Welcome to Heartland Artists Gallery's Annual Small Wonders Juried Exhibit!  We are happy to have you here and supporting this year's online show.  While it may not be quite the same as the in-person experience, this is a fantastic alternative.  We can still exhibit and promote our immensely talented artists across the northern Indiana region and recognize and award artists for their outstanding artwork.  We are grateful to the artists who have participated this year and appreciate their support as we've tried this new online format.  And, it has turned out to be quite a wonderful exhibit!

Congratulations to the award winners!  We would like to thank John E. Thomas for judging this year's exhibit.  He states:

“Why are artists so eager to be judged? In my forty-three years of teaching, I always told my students entering competitions that the judge will choose excellent work from a group of excellent work.

Awards should be about encouragement for those lucky enough to receive them. Not receiving an award should not foster discouragement.  A competition is an opportunity for the artist to share his or her work with an appreciative public. It is an opportunity to hear words of encouragement from non-artists who are amazed at what the artist is able to do.  We are going through troubled times of an historic nature.  I hope the show displayed online will garner public attention and can still provide encouraging words for many artists exhibiting their work.

As a judge I am just one educated opinion passing judgment on many excellent works, having to choose only six.  I always wish to see categories for the variety of media artists make use of.  In absence of art categories, it is my duty as a judge to see sculpture, photography, painting and drawing get represented in the art selected for awards.

Please congratulate those who received awards in this show, know that they were chosen out of many excellent works, and hope that it will be your turn to receive this encouragement in the future shows you enter.”

All work can be viewed by clicking the "Web Gallery" tab at the top of the page.  The public is welcome to vote for "Popular Choice", so please share the link to the exhibit with friends and family. Voting will end at 4PM on May 31st, 2020.  And, most of the art is available for purchase.  Simply contact us with any inquiries.

Take time to enjoy the variety of work that has been submitted by these uniquely talented artists.  Be sure to stay tuned to our website, Facebook page, or Twitter for future art opportunities in the coming weeks and months. In the meantime, stay safe, stay healthy, and keep making wonderful art!
